King Solomon’s Table at Alliance Française de Washington, DC

September 28, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

King Solomon's Table

Joan Nathan’s new book, King Solomon’s Table: A Culinary Exploration of Jewish Cooking from Around the World is a best seller. In addition, its text full of historical facts will interest anyone with a love of personal stories, events, and of course the great recipes.
Called “the queen of American Jewish Cooking” by the Houston Chronicle, Joan’s indefatigable research, like King Solomon’s, has taken her from Israel to Italy, to India and beyond to gather more than 170 recipes of Jewish cooking. Nathan is a James Beard Foundation Award winner, and a founding member of Les Dames d’Escoffier. She also received the Julia Child Award for Best Cookbook of the Year, and is a member of “the Kitchen Cabinet” of the National Museum of American History. Her previous book, Quiches, Kugels, and Coucous grew out of her love for France & the history of Jewish cooking in that country.
