The author of twelve cookbooks, most of them focused on Jewish cuisine in the United States, Israel, France, and other parts of the globe, Joan Nathan has spent a lifetime cooking and studying Jewish foodways. Her latest book, My Life in Recipes, is both a memoir and a cookbook that uses recipes to look back at her life and family history—and at her personal journey discovering Jewish cuisine from around the world.

Tickets to events held at Platform at Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation cover the cost of food, education and a unique dining experience. Meals are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. Alcoholic beverages are included in the ticket price.
